Self love & care is so important for our well being. Wether I’m sick or just in a funk there are a few things I do to help myself feel better.
Ill spend a few moments in silence, just breathing. This helps a lot if I’ve got tons on my mind and just need a little break. Learning to control those messy thoughts that bring you down is a huge step towards feeling better.
Yoga is my main art process. I practice anywhere and everywhere. I always feel better after practicing. I encourage you to get on the floor and start moving. Asana practice can relieve a person of anger, stress, depression, and sickness. I have many different styles of classes to choose from.

Alright, this is a general must for me. Its a comfort thing and my mom and I both do it. Cleaning the house, sick in bed, cooking, or just at home on a quiet night working on the computer, HP is always on in the background! As I’m typing right now I’ve got ‘the Prisoner of Azkaban’ playing on the tv. Just having it on in the background makes me feel so much better.
Im not saying you should binge HP every day, but find something you can listen to that makes you feel good. Sound therapy is awesome therapy!
You can always find a book or two in my purse and on my nightstand. When I’m feeling emotionally drained, fantasy books are the way I go. Theres nothing like completely forgetting whats happening in your life because the book is moving like a movie in your head. Hours fly when I read a good fantasy book. If I’m feeling energized ill read something more informational.

– ‘From Here To Eternity’ by, Caitlin Doughty
– ‘Vaccination Is Not Immunization: The War On Children’ by, Tim O’shea
– ‘The True Story Of Fake News’, by Mark Dice
If you’re looking for a fantasy book my suggestion is to check out the author Nora Roberts. The Cousins O’Dwyer Trilogy is incredible and is to this day my favorite. My current reading list doesn’t have any fantasy in it, recently I’ve been more into informative books.
Getting into nature and surrounding yourself by the beauty of Earth can be very therapeutic to the soul! I get into my car 2-3 times a month and drive into the mountains for some spiritual R&R. Sometimes I sit by a lake or at the top of a mountain overlooking a valley. I always come back feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world.
(some tips for going out into the wild: 1, Bring protection. I cannot express enough how important it is to protect yourself from animals, and unfortunately some humans. 2, Check the weather. You may still want to go out when its raining or stormy, I do it. Bring some extra clothes for the weather you prepare for. 3, Fill a backpack with sufficient water and food which will last you a few days, even if you plan to be out for just a few hours. Always be prepared. 4, Tell a friend. Tell someone where you are planning to go and how long you plan to be gone. Show them what routes you plan to take there and back. Let them know that if you’re not back at a certain time on a certain day, they must call the local police officials.)
